RBV – Return Bender

RBV - Return Bender

The Model RBV-1  Return Bender is one of a family of three return benders built by TRIDAN.  The model RBV-1 produces up to six (6) return bends per cycle, dependent on the tube diameter.

Other machines are the Model RBQ-4 Return Bender which produces up to two (2) return bends per cycle, dependent upon tube diameter.  As well as the Model REXQ-4 Combination Return, Elbow, and Dual 90 Degree Crossover Bender. Also, these have the same capacity specifications as the RBQ-4.   However, it will produce elbow and dual 90-degree crossovers in addition to return bends.

The RBV-1 was designed specifically for the higher volume coil manufacturer. Which requires high volumes of return bends and short straight lengths, which can be produced by this bender. The descriptive matter and specifications which follow, detail the machine and tool functions of tube dereeling. In addition to feeding, bending, cutoff, and ejection of the completed return bends.

Return Bender GENERAL MACHINE DESCRIPTION:

The production application of the TRIDAN Model RBV-1 is fabricated short 180-degree bends. These are known as return bends, or short straight lengths directly from level-wound coiled tubing of copper or aluminum having outside tube diameters between 1/4″ (6.35mm) and 3/4″ (19.05mm). A random straight length of tubing may also be employed. However, the productive output will be reduced, and between 12″ and 16″ (305/406mm) of tubing. This will be wasted per straight length.

It is a fully integrated system consisting of an adjustable-length Tube Feeding. Also, Straightening Section, Tube Bending Section, and Cutoff/Bend Ejection Section. Supporting equipment includes a Tube Decoiling System. The Control System is designed in such a manner that all operations are sequenced fully automatically or may be individually placed under manual control.

The Tube Feeding/Straightening, Bending, and Cutoff/Ejection Sections are built on a machined vertical plate, which is attached to a base plate that also serves as the top of the weldment-constructed hydraulic reservoir. This over-sized reservoir is an integral part of the machine’s frame and is furnished with a liquid level gauge and thermometer, as standard equipment.

The Tube Decoiling System is built on a weldment frame of sufficient size and rigidity to support the number and size of coils dictated by the application. At Tridan International, we ar enow a part of the Innovative Automation family. This means we have even more resources to help our customers.
