Quadpander – QE

Quadpander - QESEMI PORTABLE TUBE EXPANDER for HEAT TRANSFER COIL

The Model QE-3(4) QUADPANDER was developed to provide greater volume capacity for producers of the larger commercial and industrial-type coils. It is a further development of the expansion principle employed by the TRIDAN FLEXPANDERS and HEXPANDERS. The QUADPANDER will provide the same quality of product result, while increasing the productive output by two to three times that of the
FLEXPANDER.

The QUADPANDER provides manufacturer’s of large heat transfer coils a lower cost and efficient means of expanding their coils. While large multi-rod horizontal expander can expand large coils in one cycle, they involve both a larger capital investment and costly time-consuming setup procedures. Other tube expansion methods, such as hydrostatic and hydro-propulsive expansion, although adequate for some coil manufacturers, have disadvantages. Problems such as inconsistent tube-to-fin bond, ruptured tubes, and the extra cost for secondary cleaning and/or drying of the coil tube interiors tend to limit their use.

Some of the Major Advantages of the QUADPANDER are as follows:

1.) PRECISE CONTROL OF THE AMOUNT OF FIN-TO-TUBE BOND, when compared to hydraulically expanded coils.

2.) VIRTUALLY NO LIMITATIONS ON COIL LENGTH THAT CAN BE EXPANDED, when compared to multi-rod expanders – horizontal or vertical.

3.) VERSATILITY IN EXPANDING COILS OF DIFFERENT FIN PATTERNS, again when compared to multi-rod expanders and their costly tooling sets.

4.) EXCELLENT CONTROL OF COIL DIMENSION, when compared to other expansion methods, since the tube shrinkage rate is greatly reduced.

5.) MINIMAL SECONDARY CLEANING & DRYING OPERATIONS, when compared to hydrostatic-types of coil expansion.

6.) EASE OF CHANGE BETWEEN LONG & SHORT FINNED LENGTHS, when compared to horizontal multi-rod expanders.

7.) MODERATE COST, when compared to large horizontal multi-rod expanders.
